Sheet Pan Egg In A Hole
This Sheet Pan Egg In A Hole recipe is the easiest way to prepare the classic dish for a crowd!
Traditionally, Egg In A Hole is made on the stovetop. But when you’re cooking for friends and family, making a batch on a sheet pan ensures that everyone’s meal is piping hot when it’s time to eat.
A big thank you to Nellie’s Free Range Eggs for helping bring this post to life. This is the second in a four-part series of blog posts to promote timeless recipes.
I am very grateful for @nelliesfreerange support and company mission and hope you enjoy the upcoming content!”
And it’s quicker to make than cooking them individually in the frying pan!
This breakfast dish consists of a slice of bread with a hole cut in the middle. An egg is dropped in the hole, then it’s all cooked together!
Yep, this Easy Egg In A Hole recipe is super simple. But the best part about it is that everyone can customize their own plate!
But first thing’s first. Since it only calls for two ingredients, it’s especially important for them to be top-notch.
And what’s the star of the plate? The eggs, of course!
Matt and I switched to Nellie’s Free Range Eggs a few years ago, and after tasting the difference, we’ll never use any other egg brand!
Between baking for my blog and our love of big breakfasts, we use a lot of eggs.
We’ve even been known to go through an entire dozen in a day!
With consumption like that, I realized we shouldn’t skimp on quality.
I first grabbed a pack of Nellie’s because I like supporting local businesses (one of their farms is only a state away, in New Hampshire, but they partner with family farms across the country).
Then when I learned they were Certified Humane, meaning their hens live without cages, spend time outdoors, and are treated with care, I liked this company even more!
And let me tell you, happy hens lay yummy eggs.
The quality is evident. These eggs always taste fresh, and have rich yolks that are perfect for Egg In A Hole…
Or any recipe, for that matter!
Next time you make Sunday breakfast for the family or brunch for your friends, spend less time cooking and more time mingling by serving up Sheet Pan Egg In A Hole.
How To Make Sheet Pan Egg In A Hole:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and spray a large jelly roll pan with non-stick spray.
Cut circles out of the center of your bread using a 2 1/4-inch biscuit cutter.
If you’re making this as a family, give the kiddos different cookie cutter shapes like stars and hearts to use on the bread!
Arrange the slices of bread on the baking sheet.
Crack an egg into each circular hole.
Bake your Eggs In A Hole for 7.5 to 10 minutes, depending on how you want your yolk.
A little boring, you say? Not if you get creative with toppings!
Set up a spread so everyone can add their own garnishes. That way, all your guests can customize their plates according to their preferences.
(This is especially perfect if there are picky kids at the table, don’t you think?)
Some ideas for add-ons include bacon crumbles, goat cheese, sriracha, basil, parsley, chopped tomatoes, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
You can also try Mexican-themed accouterments like salsa, sour cream, cotija cheese, cilantro, and even guacamole.
The possibilities are endless!
So next time you host loved ones for breakfast, keep it simple with Sheet Pan Egg In A Hole. That way, you can spend less time in the kitchen and more quality time with your company!

To toast the back side of the bread and to keep the white of the egg from wetting the bread; heat the baking sheet for about 5 minutes with the cut toast on it. THEN crack your eggs into the holes and return to finish the cooking process to set the egg.
