This Apple Cider Mojito recipe is my new favorite cocktail for fall! Spiced, vibrant, and slightly sweet, it has all the flavors of a classic rum mojito plus a hefty pour of apple cider.
This sweet and spiced Apple Cider Mojito is the perfect cocktail recipe for early autumn. Served in glasses with ice, you can savor the best fall flavors while the days are still warm.
Even better, this tasty Apple Mojito recipe is super easy to make — you won’t even need a cocktail shaker! It does require some muddling, but if you don’t have a muddler, a wooden spoon handle will do the trick. 😉
Make these after a day of apple picking, then kick back, relax, and sip some cider, rum, and spice! This also makes a great signature cocktail to serve up for Thanksgiving!

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is muddling?
You can use a muddling tool, but the handle of a wooden spoon works fine, too.
What should I use for garnishes?
Cinnamon stick – It looks good and adds more spiced flavor.
Sugared rim – Go nuts and dip the glass rims in cinnamon and sugar for a tasty touch!
Mint sprigs – If you have extra mint, it also makes a colorful garnish.
What alcohol can you mix with apple cider?
- Add whiskey or dark rum and serve it hot.
- Mix with pumpkin beer for a shandy.
- Use tequila for apple cider margaritas.
- Make some apple cider sangria.
- Try an apple cider martini.
- Combine with champagne for a bellini.
…really, the possibilities are endless!
Substitutions & Variations:
- Apple juice – In a pinch, this can be subbed for apple cider (but it’s not as good)!
- Dark rum – You can sub dark rum for white rum. It’ll deviate from the classic mojito flavor, but sweet, spiced rum pairs well with cider.

Notes
- Muddling means mashing up ingredients (usually fresh herbs, berries, or fruit) to release their flavor. Usually, it’s the first step in making a cocktail because the items are muddled in the bottom of the glass. You can use a muddling tool, but the handle of a wooden spoon works fine, too.
- Slap the mint you use for garnish between your hands to release some of the oils that you’ll smell when you sip the drink, adding to the experience.
- Apple juice – In a pinch, this can be subbed for apple cider (but it’s not as good)!
- Dark rum – You can sub dark rum for white rum. It’ll deviate from the classic mojito flavor, but sweet, spiced rum pairs well with cider.

After having an apple cider mojito at a restaurant, I looked up this recipe. I ran out last night and bought all the ingredients. This was really great and refreshing! It was a little too “limey” for me, so I might cut back a little on the lime the next time I make one. That would be tonight! 🙂
