Halloween Seven Layer Bars are piled high with treats! A base of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough is topped with layers of Oreos, chocolate chunks, Reeses Pieces, M&Ms, and gooey sweetened condensed milk. The finishing touch is a handful of candy corn and some Halloween sprinkles!
These scrumptious squares go by many names. But whether you call ‘em Seven Layer Bars, 7 Layer Bars, Cookie Bars, or Magic Bars, they have a mysterious way of disappearing!
This Halloween Cookie Bars recipe is perfect in my book, but remember you can always switch up the layers. (See Substitutions & Variations below for a few more ideas!)
So gather the kiddos and make a batch of Halloween Magic Bars with all your family’s favorite treats! And make a batch of these Halloween Monster Cookies too!
7-Layer Bars Ingredients:
- Ready-to-bake refrigerated chocolate chip cookies – Firm and chewy when baked, this dough is the base of the bars.
- Candy and cookie layers – Halloween Oreos, chocolate chunks, Reeses Pieces, and Halloween M&Ms fill each bite with deliciousness. These can be swapped out for your favorite treats.
- Sweetened condensed milk – Once cooked, it becomes like sticky dulce de leche.
- Candy corn – This classic Halloween candy goes on top of the bars, but only after they come out of the oven.
- Halloween sprinkles – These are optional, but add a fun touch!
How To Make Halloween Magic Bars:
Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees and lining a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Then press the cookie dough into the prepared baking pan and bake for 15 minutes. After it bakes, top with chopped Oreos, chocolate chunks, and Reese’s Pieces.
Next, pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the bars as evenly as possible, but it doesn’t need to completely cover.
Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chunks, Oreos, and the M&M’s over the top of the sweetened condensed milk layer and bake.
After baking, top the bars with sprinkles, candy corn, and candy eyes while the bars are still warm and the chocolate is still melty so they stick. Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing and serving.
