This Breakfast Martini is one of my favorite go-to gin cocktails! It’s a newer, must-try drink that was invented by British bartender, Salvatore Calabrese, that’s been an instant classic since 1997!
What I love about this martini is how unique the orange marmalade makes it! Though its uncommon in drinks it’s a super easy ingredient to find which makes it easy to try this martini!
I also love the way something as simple as cinnamon toast garnishes the martini glass to really dress it up! It also doesn’t hurt that I can eat my favorite childhood breakfast treat while making these drinks!
Ingredient Notes
To begin mixing up this martini grab gin and Cointreau or triple sec if you prefer or just have it on hand! Next, you’ll need orange marmalade, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and orange peel to finish off the drink!
Dress this drink up by sticking wedges of cinnamon sugar toast on the edge of your glass!

How To Make A Breakfast Martini
- Add marmalade and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker.
- Stir together with a bar spoon to loosen up the marmalade.
- Pour the gin and Cointreau into a shaker with ice.
- Shake vigorously until chilled, about 15 seconds!
- Strain into a chilled martini glass.
- Squeeze an orange peel over the drink before dropping it in.
Some pulp from the marmalade will make it through the strainer. If you’d prefer a perfectly smooth drink, you can strain again over a fine mesh strainer into the glass to catch it.
How Many Martinis Does This Recipe Make?
This recipe makes one drink, to make more just use the same ingredients and repeat the instructions!
How Do I Make Cinnamon Sugar Toast For The Garnish?
Toast the bread, then immediately spread butter on the warm toast so it will melt and then sprinkle on cinnamon-sugar.
You can purchase pre-made cinnamon-sugar at the grocery store by the spices or you can easily make your own! Just mix together 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar with 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.
Can I Use Vodka Instead Of Gin?
I don’t recommend substituting gin for vodka because it’d make a more pungent drink. The marmalade and gin are a perfect combo in this cocktail.
