This Viral Greek Frappe is a homemade iced coffee recipe made in just 5 minutes or less using only 4 ingredients! This frothy, smooth coffee will convert you to being a fan of instant coffee after just one sip of this delicious drink!
This Greek Frappé Will Be Your New Favorite Iced Coffee!
This Greek Frappe is a frothy dreamy iced coffee that gives you fancy coffee shop vibes right at home! And the best part is how simple it is to make something THIS GOOD with minimal ingredients and just a few minutes!
The social media craze over this iced coffee isn’t slowing down any. Even though it is being compared to Whipped Coffee – Dalgona Coffee, it’s actually a totally different coffee experience that you don’t want to miss out on!
While Dalgona Coffee and this Greek Frappe recipe do call for similar ingredients, they are prepared differently. This Greek Frappe is an iced coffee whereas a Dalgona is typically enjoyed hot (though you can serve it over ice).
Another noticeable difference between the two viral drinks is that the foam in this Greek Frappe is slightly less thick than that in a Dalgona. While both drinks are delicious, we personally haven’t stopped making these Greek Frappes ever since it stopped my scroll on TikTok!

Ingredients For A Nescafe Greek Frappe
This smooth, frothy Greek Frappe is built on Instant Coffee! And if you’ve spent any time on social media lately, then you know that instant coffee is being used in A LOT of recipes that people are going crazy for. Some even say the homemade instant coffee drinks have them trading in their pricey coffee shop order to instead make their own coffees at home!
When it comes to instant coffee there are a lot of options out there. For this recipe, we chose to use Nescafé Taster’s Choice French Roast. Greek Frappe lovers claim it must be made with Nescafe for it to be authentic, but I say use whatever instant coffee brand that you prefer!
To finish making a frappe you’ll also need granulated sugar, milk, and water.
How To Make A Greek Frappe Drink
- Combine instant coffee with granulated sugar and water in a glass. Then mix the ingredients together using a hand frother, whipping it until it becomes thick and tripled in volume.
- Add ice to the glass of foam mixture.
- Pour in water, leaving room at the top for the milk. Stir or swirl to combine.
- Top the glass off with milk and enjoy!
- Water – Use filtered water for the best flavor. It can be cold. You can use all water to keep it dairy-free.
- Coffee – Make sure you use instant coffee granules and no espresso powder.
- Sugar – Any granulated sugar should work, but I have not tested the recipe with sugar alternatives.
- Milk – You can use all milk instead of water except for the bit of water needed to make the foam. You can use your favorite kind of milk or milk substitute.
- Flavor – You can add flavor syrup, but add it after whipping the foam.
How To Serve Greek Frappes
Serve and enjoy your Greek Frappes over ice! If you’re using nugget ice, fill the glass halfway full, whereas if you’re using larger ice cubes, you’ll fill the cup 3/4 full. For a frostier experience, chill your glass in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes before making the frappe.
You can start your day on a luxurious note by enjoying a Greek Frappe or sipping on one in the afternoon for a mid-day pick-me-up. There’s really no wrong time to treat yourself to this delicious coffee treat!
Recipe Variations
The perk to making coffee at home is being able to customize it to taste exactly how you want it to taste! Here are some recipe variations to try to help you find your sweet spot with this Greek Frappe:
- Dairy-Free Option – For dairy-free coffee you can omit the milk and make this Greek Frappe with all water.
- Choose Your Milk – Use your favorite milk or milk alternative to make this frappe exactly how you prefer. Try whole milk, almond milk, cashew milk, or even Fairlife milk to sneak some protein into your coffee!
- Stronger Coffee – Increase the amount of instant coffee in this recipe for a stronger cup of coffee.
- More/Less Sweetness – For a sweeter Greek Frappe feel free to add in more sugar, for a coffee that’s a bit less sweet simply reduce the amount of sugar that the recipe calls for.
- Add Syrups – You can add in a few pumps of flavored syrup for a tasty flavor variation on this Greek Frappe. Try caramel syrup, vanilla, or even pumpkin for a boost of seasonal flavor! I would just suggest adding the syrup after the coffee mixture has been whipped.
- Brown Sugar – Swap granulated sugar out for brown sugar for a cozy flavor variation!

I really find this incredible! My mother made this iced coffee 60 years ago! However, she added sugar first to the instant coffee then a small amount of boiling water to dissolve the coffee and sugar, then filled the glass with milk and ice. Delicious!
