This Christmas Sangria is made with red wine, fruit juices, brandy, soda, and fruit for a delicious big-batch cocktail that’s perfect for holiday parties.
Serve it up alongside other festive drinks like my Christmas Punch, Coquito, and Cranberry Cooler!
If you’re looking for a signature drink for a seasonal bash, I have two words for you: Christmas Sangria.
Having a big bowl of boozy punch or a serve-yourself mixed drink makes toasting easy. This is especially true when you have a house full of holiday guests.
After all, the point is to spend time mingling, not pouring drinks! So make sure to add this to your catalog of holiday recipes!
What Is In Sangria?
Well, honestly, this truly varies based on who’s making the recipe and what kind they feel like making.
Generally, it includes wine and fruit. Commonly, you’ll also find brandy, soda, sweetener, juice, and even the occasional hard liquor.
What Type of Brandy Do You Use In Sangria?
Again, this depends on the flavor profile you’re going for. My go-to brandy flavors are apricot and blackberry, but you could use ginger, apple, or cherry.
Basically, whatever you’re feeling like that’s compatible with the rest of your ingredients.
How Do You Make Sangria?
It’s one of the easiest cocktails you can make because it makes a huge batch and you pretty much just have to cut up your fruits and throw all the ingredients together in a large pitcher, stir to combine, then chill for a few hours.
Sangria recipes only get better with time, so if you let it chill overnight, you’re going to have some killer flavors on your hands!
Just make sure you don’t add the ice or carbonated components until just before you’re ready to serve!
See, it’s super easy! So whip up a batch and serve in stemless wine glasses at your next Christmas Party! And don’t forget the Christmas Party Playlist!
This Holiday Sangria is a simple recipe filled with lots of scrumptious seasonal flavors. Cranberry and orange juice are tangy and fruity, and lemon-lime soda adds a little sparkle.
This festive punch is spiked with three different kinds of booze to really get things buzzing! Red wine, blackberry brandy, and raspberry liqueur give this cocktail one heck of a kick.
(Needless to say … be careful!)
Aside from its yummy flavor and easy-serve style, I love this Christmas Sangria because it’s festive and beautiful! And you know what they say: it’s all about the presentation.
Speaking of which, I must mention that setting up a pretty drink table is an easy way to impress guests. You’re going to want to take out the fancy drink dispenser for this one.
How To Serve Christmas Sangria
Of course, this is also a great excuse to bring out your festive cocktail glasses and straws. (During the holiday season, I like to use drinkware with gold accents!)
And let’s not forget that a fancy Christmas drink isn’t complete without a few garnishes! Candied citrus slices, cinnamon sticks, and fresh sprigs of mint or rosemary put the finishing touches on each yummy glass.
The holidays are a time to be merry and bright, and nothing warms the spirit better than Christmas Sangria! Easy to make, serve, and even easier to drink, try whipping up this crimson cocktail for your guests this season!

Delicious! Not too overwhelmingly boozy, but definitely a kick!

This tasted great! What would the portions be for a single serving? If I wanted to make a glass for the evening?
Lisa says
Are the cranberries fresh when put into the wine? They looked soft in the video.
Rebecca Hubbell says
They are fresh
Maria says
Hi, for the 3x option. Does that mean 3 servings? Looking to make this for a holiday party, but I’m not sure how many cups/servings it yields.
Rebecca Hubbell says
The recipe yields 10 servings. 3x would triple the recipe making 30 servings.
Maria says
Hi, thank you for getting back to me so quick! I will be making this for a work holiday party. I’ll let you know how it goes!
TRish says
HI, Are the cinnamon sticks for garnish or placed in before chilling? Thanks
Rebecca Hubbell says
In, but you can also use some for garnishes.
Samantha says
Do you use cranberry cocktail juice or just pure cranberry juice?
Rebecca Hubbell says
You can just use 100% cranberry juice like ocean spray or your preferred brand.
Mariana says
What if I cannot find blackberry brandy? Is it a must?
Rebecca Hubbell says
Another fruit brandy like apple, raspberry. Or apricot will also work.
Amy Billimek says
What can I use to substitute the soda? Otherwise looks amazing!!
Rebecca Hubbell says
Are you looking to avoid just soda or carbonation in general? Club soda, seltzer, or even prosecco are all great substitutes!
Susan Ashley says
31 g of sugar is high. Can this be made with artificial sweetener for diabetics?
Rebecca Hubbell says
Hi Susan, if you are used to the taste of diet, sugar free, alternative products and sweeteners than I think you can probably safely substitute the juice, soda, and simple syrup for more diabetic friendly options.
