Ingredient Notes
This Donut Hole Christmas Wreath Recipe is not only easy to cook but even easier to assemble! Making for a super simple way to spread edible holiday cheer for everyone to enjoy!
To make a donut wreath you’ll start with a can of Flaky Jumbo Biscuits. From there each biscuit will be cut up and then deep fried in vegetable oil.
Afterward, each donut will get its sweet glazed coating. To make this you’ll need powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and whole milk.
Once the Glazed Donut Holes have been assembled in a wreath shape you can add some festive garnishes! I like to add some holiday sprinkles as well as some powdered sugar.

Store the bagful of donuts in the freezer for up to 2 months.
What Other Types Of Oil Can I Fry These Donuts In?
You could also use canola oil, peanut oil, safflower oil, or sunflower oil. However, I don’t suggest olive oil as its low smoke point isn’t good for deep frying.
How Do I Prevent The Donuts From Becoming Oily?
Be sure to keep the temperature of your oil right at 350 degrees F. Oily donuts generally mean they’re spending too much time in the oil from the temperature not being hot enough.
Can I Use Water In The Glaze Recipe?
Yes, you can certainly swap the whole milk out for water.
How Can I Get The Donuts To Stick Together Better In The Wreath?
Make sure that you’re not letting the donuts dry individually after dipping them in the glaze. You want to assemble them into the wreath shape while they’re nice and sticky. This allows them to dry and stick together nicely!
Is There A Different Topping I Could Use On These Donut Holes?
Yes, you could do a cozy cinnamon sugar topping! To do so, mix together 1/4 cup of granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Then sprinkle the donuts as soon as they come out of the oil!

Donut Holes Christmas Wreath
Equipment
- Heavy bottom pot
- Baking sheets
- Scissors
- Slotted spoon
- Tongs
- Large round platter
Ingredients
Donuts
- 4 cups vegetable oil
- 1 (16oz.) can flaky jumbo biscuits
Glaze
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 Tablespoons whole milk
Toppings
- powdered sugar for dusting
- sprinkles
Instructions
- Add vegetable oil into a heavy bottom pot. You want at least 2 inches of oil covering the bottom of the pot. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Line a baking sheet with paper towels. Set this next to the pot of hot oil.
- Make the glaze. Stir together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Set this aside.
- Open the can of biscuits and use scissors to cut each biscuit into 6 pieces. Roll the pieces in your hands to make them as round as possible.
- Use a slotted spoon to carefully place a few donut holes at a time into the hot oil. Do not crowd them, as this will cause the oil to drop in temperature. It will only take a few minutes for each to cook.
- Remove the golden donut holes to the baking sheet lined with paper towels. Allow them to cool slightly.
- Use a fork or tongs to dip and swirl each donut, one by one, into the glaze. Allow the excess glaze to drip off, then place the glazed donut holes in a wreath shape on a large round platter. Make sure they are touching each other so that the glaze will help them stick together.
- Lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar and red and green sprinkles for a more festive wreath!
