Eggnog Waffles
Eggnog Waffles are a fun twist on a classic breakfast that’s perfect for the holidays! Serve them with a homemade delicious vanilla spice syrup for extra deliciousness!
My husband Matt and I make waffles every Sunday morning, and now that it’s November, we’ve decided to add some holiday spice to our big weekend breakfasts.
This mouthwatering Eggnog Waffles recipe is starting to get us into the spirit, now that Thanksgiving is just around the corner!
Family traditions have always been super important to both Matt and me, and with the birth of our daughter Evie, the time that we spend together is more meaningful than ever.
To us, making Sunday waffles is about more than breakfast; it’s about taking the time to reconnect and relax together after a busy week filled with work, errands, and obligations.
This is our first holiday season as parents!
As we begin preparing for all the fun festivities, I can’t help but imagine all the memories we’ll make with Evie in the coming the years: concocting new Christmas dinner ideas, baking cookies together, decorating the tree, and of course, enjoying family meals every Sunday, like these decadent Eggnog Waffles!
Of course, we’ll have to get her eating solid foods, first.
So until then, my husband and I — and maybe a few lucky brunch guests — will be enjoying these fluffy Eggnog Waffles throughout the holidays.
While it should come as no surprise that this is a recipe using eggnog, the secret to this not-so-secret ingredient lies in the quality.
That’s why I always use Hood!
Having a premium signature ingredient ensures that your breakfast will be full of delicious flavor and texture, and Hood eggnog always does the trick.
This recipe yields golden waffles that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with a touch of warm and cozy winter spice.
These Eggnog Waffles are topped with Homemade Whipped Cream and a homemade Spiced Vanilla Syrup, this is the perfect way to enjoy a lazy weekend morning. Of course, you can wash it down with an ice cold mug of holiday eggnog, to boot!
Whether you’re looking to add richness to your favorite holiday desserts or you sip it straight from the glass, you can’t go wrong with creamy, spicy Hood eggnog. This year, they released four flavors that can inspire breakfast (like these Eggnog Waffles), dessert, and baking recipes all season long.
A taste of nostalgia: Golden Eggnog, made with extra creamy milk and sugared yolks, is made with a secret recipe that’s been tried-and-true for over 50 years.
A smooth sip: Vanilla Eggnog has tons of smooth flavor, thanks to the addition of vanilla extract. Its mellow taste makes it easy to incorporate into recipes — try it in pancakes or put a splash in your coffee!
Pumpkin spice fanatics: Just because fall is over doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to your favorite flavor! Pumpkin Eggnog has all the goodness of pumpkin pie spice and is made with real pumpkin puree. But only available until Thanksgiving, so stock up beforehand!
The best of both worlds: Light Eggnog has 55% less fat than the original, but all the yummy taste of your favorite holiday beverage. (Go ahead, have that second glass.)
Like the holidays, Hood Eggnog only comes around once a year, so stock up and start your own family traditions like these Eggnog Waffles. You can find more festive ideas by visiting the Hood website and following @HPHood on Facebook and Instagram if, like me, you can’t get enough of the good stuff!
If you’re wondering where to buy this seasonal treat, you’re in luck because it’s available at most local grocery stores on the east coast. There is a flavor for every palette, or you can try all four and create some new eggnog recipes. ‘Tis the season to come together with friends, family, food, and creamy, delicious eggnog!

These waffles were fantastic! Easy to make. Fluffy and flavorful (I did add 1/4 tsp nutmeg). Everyone in the family enjoyed them. I’m definitely keeping this recipe for the future.

Absolutely delicious. I added nutmeg because the eggnog taste was a little subtle for me, but a huge hit in my house!

These are amazing!! I had to add a bit more eggnog to get the batter a bit thinner (my waffle iron is a pour-through-a-hole-in-the-top one) and I only had salted butter so I just left the other salt out. Turned out so yummy!! Thanks for the fun holiday idea!
