Ingredient Notes
To start making this Garbage Bread Recipe you’ll need a pizza crust. I kept it simple and just grabbed a can of refrigerated pizza dough from the grocery store.
However, you could totally make your favorite homemade pizza dough recipe to use as well! Once you have your choice in pizza dough sorted out you’ll move on to the meaty filling.
This is made by cooking ground beef and then adding in ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, diced onion, and garlic paste. Once this mixture is thoroughly cooked then you’ll also add in diced dill pickles, chopped cooked bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and shredded pepper jack cheese.
Before the Garbage Bread hits the oven it’s brushed with melted salted butter and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
Feel free to season with garlic powder and onion powder instead of using fresh ingredients.
How To Make Garbage Bread
- Roll the pizza crust out into a rectangle on a large piece of parchment paper. Then transfer it carefully onto a large baking sheet.
- Cut thick strips along each of the long sides of the dough.
- Cook the ground beef in a large skill until browned. Afterward, drain the grease from the pan.
- Stir ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the cooked beef.
- Add in the diced onion, cover the pan, and then cook until the onions have started to soften. Stir frequently.
- Stir in the garlic paste followed by the pickles, bacon, and cheese. Once the cheese has completely melted begin spooning the meat mixture onto the uncut center of the pizza crust.
