A Jelly Donut Shot is a sweet and fun 2-ingredient cocktail made with Chambord and RumChata that’s perfect for brunch and other occasions!
This is such an easy and fun dessert cocktail, similar to my Chocolate Cream Pie Shots or my Boozy S’mores Hot Chocolate!
This Jelly Donut Shot is the perfect way to add a little excitement to brunch or up your breakfast-for-dinner game! It’s a fun and easy shot recipe made with just two ingredients and an optional sugar rim which gives it the full flavor of a sugar-coated jelly donut! It’s delish!
🥃 What Is A Jelly Donut Shot?
This shot recipe is made with just two ingredients: Chambord, a black raspberry liqueur, and RumChata, a cream liqueur with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar.
If RumChata isn’t quite your thing, you could also try using Irish Cream.
👩🍳 How To Make A Jelly Donut Shot
Since there are only two ingredients, this cocktail is really easy to make!
Step 1: Begin by pouring the Chambord into a double-shot glass.
Step 2: Next, pour the RumChata slowly over the back of a cocktail spoon into the shot glass. Then, drink immediately.
Pouring the RumChata over the back of a spoon helps prevent the two liqueurs from blending and ensures two distinct layers.
📃 Recipe Notes
- I think this taste bests when the liqueurs have been chilled for 15 to 20 minutes in the freezer.
- Pour the RumChata or Irish Cream into the glass very slowly.
- To make things a little easier, I like using my Nesting Measuring Cups to measure and pour my liqueur because the fine pour creates a better layer.
- The RumChata is denser than the Chambord and will sink below it to create two distinct layers.
- You could use Chambord and RumChata in my Jello Shot Recipe to make Jelly Donut Jello Shots!
- The recipe is equal parts of the two ingredients, so you can use a standard shot glass if you’d prefer.
- If you prefer something other than raspberry, try using a strawberry or apple liqueur.
- If you’d like, you can lightly line the rim of your shot glass with water and turn it upside down in some sugar for a simple sugar rim.
🍩 Does It Really Taste Like A Jelly Donut?
A Jelly Donut Shot definitely has similar flavor components to the real thing! Especially if you decide to rim your shot glass with sugar. The Chambord acts as the fruit jelly, and the Rum Chata brings in sweet, creamy flavors to represent the donut itself.
You’re going to shoot this drink fast, and you’ll be left with a sweet aftertaste like a jelly donut in your mouth and a slight burn in your throat.
If you’re looking for a lighter and brighter flavored shot, something not quite as sweet, try this White Tea Shot recipe at your next party!
