Rebecca’s Recipe Review
Taste: Sweet and Fruity!
Ease: 2/10 – just dump it all in and prep your garnishes!
Pros: Super easy to make and highly likely to have an empty bowl by the end of the party!
Cons: Peach Juice could be a little tricky to locate – try Target or Walmart! This punch may be a bit on the sweet side for some.
Would I Make This Again? Yes, we love hosting in the summer and this is the perfect party punch for warm weather!
Summer Punch Ingredients
The foundation of this party punch starts with peach juice and pineapple orange juice. For both of these juices I refer the Simply Brand as I find it just has a better flavor overall.
If you can’t get your hands on a jug of pineapple orange juice you can just do equal parts of pineapple juice and orange juice. I would just recommend avoiding juice blends that have added sugar or other juices in them.
The summer party punch recipe continues with lemonade with my brand of choice being Newmans Own, but feel free to use your favorite lemonade! Round off the ingredients list is Cherry Simple Syrup and Strawberry Simple Syrup, both of which I prefer to make homemade.
The benefits of using homemade simple syrups are getting true, authentic flavor without the addition of artificial sweeteners or dyes! The flavor is just overall better as well, after all, you just can’t beat the taste of homemade!
How To Make Sparkling Summer Punch
- Prepare the Cherry Simple Syrup and Strawberry Simple Syrup ahead of time and allow them to completely cool.
- Pour the peach juice, pineapple orange juice, lemonade, cherry simple syrup, and strawberry simple syrup into your punch bowl or drink dispenser and stir.
- Top with lemon-lime soda or club soda right before serving.
- Garnish with fresh fruit such as lemon wheels, lime wheels, orange wheels, strawberry slices, fresh cherries, pineapple wedges, and mint. Enjoy!
Peach Juice – Peace juice can be a little too sweet for some; therefore, to lessen the sweetness in the punch, feel free to swap lemon-lime soda out for club soda. Also, keep in mind that peach juice can be a little tricky to get your hands on; however, I did find it at my local Walmart and Target!
Homemade Syrups – Using homemade simple syrups such as Cherry Simple Syrup and Strawberry Simple Syrup add authentic fruity flavor to the punch without the added artificial sweeteners or dyes. To achieve the best punch flavor, I highly recommend homemade simple syrups over storebought.
Reserving Soda – If you make the base of this party punch ahead of time or make a refill batch to chill in the fridge, remember to reserve the soda out! Only add the soda to the punch right before serving so that the punch has fresh carbonation for guests to enjoy!
Ice Ring – An ice ring keeps the punch ice-cold with minimal melting, avoiding a watered-down punch! It’s always an easy WOW! statement that brings an extra level of fun to the party punch! To make an ice ring, I’d recommend using a bundt pan or any mold that has a hole in the middle. Then partially fill the pan or mold up and add fruit garnishes to it and freeze. Repeat this until you have filled the entire pan up with layers of frozen water and garnishes.
How To Serve Summer Punch Recipes
Be the host who has thought of every detail to give your friends and family the ultimate summer punch experience! Here are some things to consider when serving your party punch all summer long:
- Keep It Cold – The enjoyment of sipping on party punch is easily lost when the punch runs warm. To avoid this, chill ALL of the ingredients ahead of time for as long as possible. Then consider making an ice ring or ice block to set in the punch to maintain its chill. Keep in mind that the ice ring or block will need to be made ahead of time! I don’t recommend using ice chips or small chunks of ice as those will melt quicker than a block, resulting in watered-down punch.
- With Garnishes – Garnishes such as lime wheels, orange wheels, strawberry slices, fresh cherries, pineapple wedges, and mint are all an easy way to take your party punch to the next level. These edible garnishes really add an element of fun that makes you feel like you’re sipping on a fancy drink!
- Make Extra -If you’re hosting a large crowd then you can count on needing a refill! To keep this quick and simple, pre-make an extra batch of party punch that’s chilling in the fridge for when you need it. Just be sure to add the lemon-lime soda right before serving to ensure the fizzy fun is fresh!
- Punch Bowl – Feel free to keep it simple and have guests ladle their punch into plastic cups!
- Individual Glasses – Use mason jars or fun and fancy party cups to elevate the party punch experience! Another easy way to show guests you’ve gone the extra mile!
- Gallon Drink Dispenser – A gallon drink dispenser is great for serving so that you can eliminate the mess of using a ladle. It would also curb any pesky summer bugs from landing in the punch!
Garnish Ideas For Party Punch
The Summer Punch makes for such a fun party drink when it’s loaded with garnishes! I love using lemon wheels, lime wheels, orange wheels, strawberry slices, fresh cherries, pineapple wedges, and mint. Here are some fun ideas for how to garnish your party punch:
- The Bowl – You can toss whatever garnishes you choose to use right into the punch bowl.
- Premade Garnish Picks – Pre-make garnish picks using your fruit(s) of choice! Then set them on ice next to the punch bowl for guests to choose themselves and place in their drinks.
- Make Your Own Garnish Picks – Add an assortment of fruit onto a tray and let guests build their own garnish picks using the fruits of their choice!
- Grab & Go – Combine the fruit garnishes into a bowl with a spoon and set it on ice. Guests can then add a scoop of fruit to their cup of party punch!
How To Store Nonalcoholic Summer Punch
Once the lemon-lime soda has been added to this Summer Punch recipe it’s best to drink it up right away! As the punch sits the soda loses its carbonation, causing the punch to fall flat and lose its fizzy kick.
If you’d like you can make the punch a day or two ahead of time and then add in the lemon lime soda and garnishes right before serving.
